Jefferson Airplane is the "reunion" album of San Francisco rock band Jefferson Airplane. Paul Kantner, Marty Balin, and Jack Casady had recorded KBC Band in 1986. Grace Slick had recently left Starship after performing lead vocals on their album, No Protection in 1987. Jorma Kaukonen had been performing solo work and performing live with Jack as Hot Tuna. The five former members of Jefferson Airplane reformed the band for a reunion tour and a new album in 1989. The new album was released on Epic Records in 1989 (see 1989 in music). Appearing as guest musicians are three members of Toto: David Paich, Mike Porcaro and Steve Porcaro.
