Jeff Rickard (also known simply as "JR") is the television host of Out of Bounds on CN8. Rickard previously worked as sports talk radio host on ESPN Radio's GameNight. He joined ESPN Radio in February, 2006 after previously working at Sporting News Radio. He has previously worked in Salt Lake City, Utah, Denver, Colorado and Chicago, Illinois. Richard Deitsch of SI.com praised Rickard's work with ESPN Radio when he named him the 2006 Sports Illustrated Radio Personality of the Year by saying,
“ | There are bigger and more famous hosts on ESPN Radio, but like Fowler and Brown, Rickard stands out for his understated professionalism. He's a sports-talk host who opts for a reasoned and mannered approach to topics. No screaming. No shtick. No declaring to his audience why he's the smartest guy in the room. Every time I heard him in 2006 -- and I heard him with about seven different partners -- he never failed to provide well-thought-out opinions. When his bosses catch on, he'll probably get fired. | ” |
On January 25th, Rickard announced "Football Friday Night" will be his last show and he is leaving ESPN Radio for job in television.
