[edit] Career

Minton began his professional career as a trainee with Tottenham in 1992, making three league and cup appearances, scoring one goal.[1] He was released in July 1994 and joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a free transfer, for whom he made 199 league and cup appearances, scoring 32 goals, in five seasons.[1] He joined Port Vale on a free transfer in June 1999.[1] Following a defeat to non-league Canvey Island in the FA Cup, he and four other players were placed on the transfer list in December 2000.[2] He struggled to hold down a place in the first team in the New Year and entered talks with Rotherham United in March 2001.[3] He joined Rotherham and scored on his debut for them in a 3-0 against Bristol City.[4] He made nine appearances, scoring two goals, in the remainder of the 2001-2001 season as Rotherham secured promotion to Division One.He joined Third Division side, Leyton Orient, in July 2001.[1] He made 39 league and cup appearances in the 2001-2002 season and was part of the team that beat First Division side Portsmouth in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in January 2002.[5] He was offered a two-year extension to his contract in January 2002,[6] but left the club in August 2002 and joined Grays Athletic.[7] Two weeks later, he moved to Canvey Island in a player exchange deal for midfielder Adam Miller.[8] He spent four seasons at Canvey Island, helping them to promotion to the Football Conference and to the final of the FA Trophy in 2004.[9] He joined Chelmsford City in August 2006.[10]
