[edit] Loss of Popularity at EMU
In 2006, after a 1-11 finish in the regular season, the Eagle fans of EMU began to call for the firing of Coach Genyk. After a contract extension was signed, however, the fans were crestfallen. Since then, even at basketball games, fans have begun to chant, "Fire Genyk!" during EMU sporting events.
