Enquist was an outstanding prep player with Beaverton High School. He was the 1986 Oregon High School of the Year and Parade Magazine High School All American. He then attended and played soccer at UNLV before transferring to Oregon State University.[1] In 1987, he played the collegiate off season with the semi-professional F.C. Portland of the Western Soccer Alliance. In 1990, he signed with the Portland Timbers of the American Professional Soccer League. His career between 1990 and 1995 is unknown, but at some point, he signed with the Cascade Surge of USISL.
