Jeff Atkinson (athlete)

Jeff Atkinson is a former middle distance runner and currently holds the sixteen-hundred meter record at Stanford University.[citation needed] He competed at the Summer Olympics in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea and came in tenth place in the 1500m race. Jeff is currently holding coaching positions in both cross country and track and field at Palos Verdes High School. Some coaching accomplishments include bringing the Palos Verdes Cross Country team to a second place in the State meet. He hoped to win the division three state title in 2007 by beating Barstow, the two time reigning champions; however, his team got fifth place at the state meet.

The course is a cloverleaf up and down Pier Ave. and from the Hermosa Pier on the Strand. The end of the race goes out on the Pier and back.
