[edit] Wikipedia is not an advertising service

The notice "Wikipedia is not an advertising service." has been shown to you each time that you have created an article. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia. Be warned that editors who persist in their assertions that they should be permitted advertisements here wear out their welcomes exceedingly quickly. Uncle G 14:50, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:John Zammit.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:John Zammit.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spam in Image:Johnzammit.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Johnzammit.jpg, by FeralDruid, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Johnzammit.jpg is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Johnzammit.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Johnzammit.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:14, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta is an advertisement

The article Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -FeralDruid 18:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What Wikipedia is not

You've left a comment on my talk page asking why your Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta was deleted, and stating that Wikipedia is full of advertisements. Wikipedia is not a soapbox, and the aforementioned page existed for the sole purpose of advertising a political candidate.

You know advertising is not permitted here, per your prior dicussions over Octomover and per the first topic on this very page. Please refrain from posting additional advertising on Wikipedia. -FeralDruid 19:51, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
