[edit] Fleshing Out Page
I am still relatively new to Wikipedia, but felt this page needed some editing. Let me profess my own bias: I live in Maine, so have an interest in seeing fair and correct information presented on both candidates in this race. It needs more still. Added photo from the candidates official page, and separated information into categories. mitchsensei 2:56 am, 20 June 2006
[edit] Evident Bias
It is very probable that this article was written by someone from Ms. Hay Bright's campaign or by a non-neutral supporter of hers. Linking to her campaign website is not an adequate method of verifying what type of candidate she is, or whether she is "pro-labor" or "pro-environment." Referring to NAFTA, CAFTA et. al as "damaging" is also non-neutral, as it's not in quotation form, but rather presents itself as a statement of fact. The article also has tons of statements altered by buzz words: "well-known" in Maine, "known as" an outspoken advocate...."is considered" to be a liberal/progressive....(footnoted to her website, as well). Obviously, the article needs a lot of editing.
Please sign your comments. Yes, initially, this material was taken from the Politician's own materials. It could use work, but it was a starting point to flesh out an unbiased piece. I believe too much was edited out though by "MD27." The account appears to only have been created to change this one article, so I think it a bit suspect. Thanks for your contributions. mitchsensei 2:46 am, 8 Aug 2006
[edit] Minimizing Biography
With the election over, Jean Hay Bright's signficance for being a biography on wikipedia is limited to her being the challenger to Olympia Snowe. I am minimizing the biography to reflect this. If anyone has a compelling reasons why her bio should be larger, please feel free to comment.
