In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. At the very end Harlow contracted nephritic poisoning, a toxic side effect of kidney failure. With the kidneys shut down, the body cannot excrete waste through normal channels, instead it comes out through the breath and sweat. PatrickJ83 00:41, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Paul Bern was possibly drained in the perfume, no proof, - also his lover Millette it is accepted she committed suicide but there is evidence dirty play was involved, - so how come it does not say... allegedly... so be careful with such statements. - And case was reopened as you will see noted on Bern bio, grow up vandals! What, no free wiki here!
There is nothing mentioned of this in David Stenn's very relevant 1992 Harlow bio. I have mainly seen this in gossipy, low-brow publications like Kenneth Anger's "Hollywood Babylon" and the like. PatrickJ83 00:42, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Paragraph formatting
Hi fellow Harlow heads!
I want to talk a bit about paragraph formatting. Someone took apart the paragraph sentences in the "later career and death" section and moved them apart so the paragraphs were only two sentences or so each. This is improper formatting - a paragraph is one train of thought, it remains together until another train of thought. So the paragraph on the death cause myths should remain together as it all discusses one thing, and not be taken apart. Thanks. PatrickJ83 01:59, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Great Rewrite: A blog
Today is the beginning of the Great Rewrite (as I call it) of the Jean Harlow page. It is my intention to reinvent this page from a superficial and boring article into the best, most useful and most comprehensive source on Jean Harlow information on the web.
First entry, April 22
- Today I totally re-worded the intro paragraph. I also expanded on the trivia section, removing dubious stuff and inserting more interesting trivia such as paralells with Marilyn Monroe and the like.

[edit] Trivia suggestion
It's a widely held view here that "trivia" sections are not entirely appropriate for our articles, however a lot of the points made under this heading in this article are interesting, and probably important enough to include in the article. My suggestion is to look at working these into the article and removing the "trivia" section. For example the song name checks - each song listed was a HUGE hit. Perhaps these should go under a "Legacy" heading - how is Harlow viewed since her death - what has been her lasing impact etc? Marilyn Monroe would be a great example to also use under this heading as she had acknowledged Harlow as one of her idols, and certainly a lot of Marilyn's style was inspired by her. That Harlow influenced arguably the most famous movie star of the century deserves to be discussed in the article, rather than included as trivia. (interesting snippet, and this truly is trivia.... both Harlow and Monroe had Clark Gable as their last leading man.) The other points could easily be incorporated into the article, and would make the article stronger at the same time. Rossrs 09:23, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The novel
I have created an article on the novel Today is Tonight which is credited to Harlow. Although I have a copy of this rare book all the information I have added here and in the novel's article is taken from the introduction. Any expansion regarding the novel itself and its history is welcome. If there is reputable proof that the book wasn't written by her, then this should of course be added where applicable. 23skidoo 23:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
