[edit] Keep this article ?
I will not put this article on VfD in reagrd for the history, but I would like to comment that in my opinion, this person is not notable for anything else than the unrest of October-September in France. Furthermor, it is unlikely that we could ever have anything more to say about him, leaving this article as a perpetual stub. Rama 08:52, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- IMHO, it's not going to get VfD'd. What JJLC is admittedly a minor figure in history. He is rather notable as the first death of the
"French Intifada". I myself would vote keep. Let's wait for the history to cool down before making any hasty decisions. Klonimus 09:08, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
I tend to disagree. The only notable thing about him is that he was killed in the riots. therefore redirect. If his novel appears posthumously, we can recreate the article. dab (ᛏ) 19:48, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- How is wikipedia at all harmed by leaving this alone as a small article? At least for the duration of historical interest, let it stay independant, then after history has cooled down. Leaving the article in existance, allows for organic growth. I see him as similar to Jean Charles de Menezes, Klonimus 20:34, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

- Yeah, it's not like he's an American or anything. Let it stay. - Yokohama Mama 09:19, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

- I don't see any harm in keeping this article. The person was an ordinary Frenchman, who has become important due to his violent death. It is not world history, but definitely contemporary history / current event material. --Valentinian 23:29, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Should we keep the final quote from Ms Le Chenadec? Isn't it too much for an encyclopedia? Where is information in that specific sentence? --Kubrick 908 19:12, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
