[edit] Botanized?

In this sentence, "The son of an innkeeper, he 'botanized' in the company of the duc de la Rochefoucauld, in the democratic companionship that early science fostered." , does the writer mean he "flourished" when using he "botanized? It seems like a strange word to use especially considering he is a physics and chemisty teacher. --Rajah 14:59, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

To botanize is to look for and study plants. Awien (talk) 23:00, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hyperbole

The article contains the sentence "The young hero swam in his own blood." Obviously this is hyperbole, but is this supposed to be a quotation of popular historical accounts of the incident, or what? And if so, can we have a source? 71.141.89.149 07:10, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Flight pioneer
