Jean II Makoun (born May 29, 1983) is a Cameroonian football player who plays for Lille OSC as a midfielder.[1]
He was part of the Cameroonian 2004 African Nations Cup team, who finished top of their group in the first round of competition, before failing to secure qualification for the semi-finals. Makoun also participated in the 2006 African Nations Cup and 2008 African Nations Cup.[2]
The defensive midfielder has been a long term target for Arsenal FC and in the summer of 2008 has also attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. Makouns decision to quit Lille has incresed rumours that he will be playing the 2008/09 season in England.[3]
