Jean Lyon, Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne

Jean Lyon née Nicholsen (September 22, 1713 - April 22, 1778) was the Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the wife of Thomas Lyon, 8th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and one of the ancestors of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. The couple were married on July 20, 1736, in Houghton le Spring in Durham, England and had seven children:

• James Philip Lyon
• Thomas Lyon
• Mary Lyon
• Susan Lyon
• Anne Lyon. Married John Simpson. Their daughter Maria Susannah Simpson married Thomas Liddell, 1st Baron Ravensworth.
• Jane Lyon

She died on April 22, 1778 in Hetton le Hole, County Durham, England.
