Jean Hamel

Jean P. Hamel (born June 6, 1952 in Asbestos, Quebec) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 699 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Montreal Canadiens.

His career was ended during the famous "Bataille du vendredi saint" against the Québec Nordiques when a massive bench brawl broke out. He took a punch to the eye from Québec Nordiques player Louis Sleigher and never played hockey after that.
