Jean Elisabeth Lassen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jean Elisabeth Lassen (born 26 September 1980) is a Canadian weightlifter. Lassen is originally from Whitehorse, Yukon. She is one of few Yukon athletes to break in to the world scene.

Lassen won a silver medal in the women's 54-59kg division at the 1995 Canada Winter Games in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This, of course, was before she became a national athlete.

Lassen participated in the women's -69 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal, finishing behind Oxana Slivenko and Tatiana Matveeva. She snatched 102 kg and jerked an additional 136 kg for a total of 238 kg, 25 kg behind winner Slivenko.[1]
