Jean Berkey is a Washington State Senator (Democrat) for the 38th District.

Jean is in her fifth year serving the citizens of the 38th District, first as representative and now as senator, which includes Everett and Marysville. Jean has long been active in political and community activities in Snohomish County – serving as board member for a number of organizations including the Everett Senior Center, the Everett Medic One Foundation, United Way and the Everett Community College Board of Trustees. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington. Jean is a strong advocate for education, government accountability, and affordable health care, and serves as the vice-chair for the both the Financial Institutions, Insurance & Consumer Protection Committee and the Government Operations & Elections Committee, and a member of the Early Education, K-12 and Higher Education Committee.

Jean considers herself a native Washingtonian, having moved to Everett with her family when she was nine years old. Jean and her husband Don have made their home in Everett for over 30 years. She holds a BA in Business from the University of Washington.
