Jean-Marc Ayrault

Jean-Marc Ayrault (born 25 January 1950 in Maulévrier, Maine-et-Loire) is a French politician and a member of the French Socialist Party. He is currently Mayor of Nantes and President of the Socialist Party group in the French National Assembly.

• 14 March 1977 – 19 March 1989: Mayor of Saint-Herblain (Loire-Atlantique).
• Since 2 April 1986: Member of National Assembly of France.
• Since 20 March 1989: Mayor of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
• Since 5 June 1997: President of Socialist Party group in National Assembly.
• Chairman of the Nantes Métropole Urban Community Council.
