Jean-Jacques Gosso (born March 3, 1983), is an Ivorian footballer and recently has moved to Israeli outfit, FC Ashdod[1]. He played for his country in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, held in the United Arab Emirates.
[edit] Flirt with Israel
In 2006, Gosso came to Israel to discuss terms with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Due to financial constraints at the club, they were unable to come up with the transfer fee that Wydad Casablanca had come up with. Months later, Gosso's name came up again but this time word had spread that Ashdod had agreed terms with the club and player and that he was due in Israel to sign a contract. In the end, Gosso did indeed join FC Ashdod where he immediately received a starting position in his first league match against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
