Hello Wikipedians, my name is John. I am a college student in Gainesville, Florida (go Gators), and I am studying business to later focus on Aviation Business Administration with a specialization in Airport Management (I like airports). I have many passions outside of school and airports, and I decided to create a Wikipedia account to pursue those interests, and to help others understand them as I do. I have gained much from Wikipedia in the past, and now I feel it is time to give as much back as I can.

I want to present one side of the global warming issue that I believe is missing in Wikipedia, and that is an article dealing with what possible effects a rise in average global temperatures might have on the globe. It will most likely have some sort of an effect on the Earth's weather, but not much has been discussed about what would happen to out daily lives. Taking current data I want to lay out possible scenarios if the Earth were several degrees warmer, on average. I want to examine a warmer average temperature's effect on health, agriculture, amount of rainfall, distribution of rainfall, animal habitats, animal survival rates, economies, sea levels, travel, and safety. Any other subtopic ideas would be very welcome and appreciated, however, if one is to present only one side of a sub-topic, please make a note that another possible scenario still must be illustrated.

[edit] Possible Effects of Global Warming

The issue of global warming is a current political, ethical, scientific, and sociological debate about the current direction in which the Earth's climate is changing, its causes, and its effects. Much debate rages, often with much anger and passion on all sides of the issue. The majority of the debate in the current media is on the causes of the recent changes in the climate. The effects, however, are equally important to discuss, if not more so, because a cost/benefit analysis of any action must take into account both the costs and benefits going in and the costs and benefits coming out.
