Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Aseptic processing. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.   Your username is also an apparent violation of Wikipedia username policy as it serves to promote a commercial entity. If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:13, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: it is the name of an existing business. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. MBisanz talk 17:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "The username that I have chosen JCScontrols stands for Jesus Christ Still controls and although it may the name of my business it is also the meaning of how I wish to live my life. I do not intend to use my login for any commercial interests and hope that you can understand my desires to maintain my username. I also read in the policy that: Company/group names Use of Wikipedia for promotion of a company or group is not permitted, and accounts that do this will be blocked. Use of a company or group name as a username is not explicitly prohibited, but it is not recommended, and depending on the circumstances may be seen as a problem. Similarly, editing with a possible conflict of interest – for example, editing an article about your employer – is not disallowed, but anyone wishing to do so is advised to first accumulate some editing experience in unrelated areas. Thank you for listening."

Decline reason: "An examination of your record shows that you have already added a link to your business, JCScontrols, to at least one Wikipedia article. This is a flat contradiction to your claim that "I do not intend to use my login for any commercial interests" — Orange Mike | Talk 18:04, 29 April 2008 (UTC)"

Request reason: "I did place one link and when the user Mike Doughney pointed out to me the violation I stated to him that I understood why he removed it and do not have a problem with the rule. This is stated on his talk page. I will follow the rules and will not abuse them. Please reconsider the unblock as I will not be a problem for you. Thank you for letting me explain."

Decline reason: "Notwithstanding, your username is, as noted above, identical or similar to an existing business, and seeing as you have used the account for promotional purposes we will have to ask you to edit under another username. It would probably be easier just to create another account than formally change this one ... let us know if you need the block modified to allow that (just put a comment on this page) — Daniel Case (talk) 18:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)"
