[edit] License tagging for Image:B macfadden.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:B macfadden.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] John G. McCaskey

I see you have done a lot of work on this article recently, and it is much appreciated. Could you please try to fix the citation style (proper use of citations, proper citation format)? It would help this article out a great deal. If you need it, more information can be found at WP:CITE, and if you have questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks, Chris Griswold () 17:11, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Conoco

Thanks for the clarifications - it makes sense now. I am just learning here - in this case I can see that it would have been better to ask you for clarification before editing the article. Peace, Ugly Elephant 03:08, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Willie-Cries-For-War Oil Well.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Willie-Cries-For-War Oil Well.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:40, 6 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Liftarn 06:40, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 00:28, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CONOCO Image.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CONOCO Image.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Talk on the article's talk pahge, or if it gets awkward, leave a not at WP:ANI - but only if it gets really awkward. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:49, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

You are right! I have done some original research, and discovered that what I produced on the 101 Ranch was not good (in fact is was very poor). (Other than what I offered on the 110 Ranch Oil Company and Marland Oil). I will offer a more proper Ranch presentation later.Jcmcapital (talk) 14:59, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
