The subjects major contribution was hidden in the article. I made it explicit in the first sentence. Her's is a conceptual contribution that has spawned substantial research on approximate queries in database systems.
[edit] Proposed deletion of Maria Zemankova

[edit] I don't see the reason why it is being deleted. It looks OK on the page Maria Zemankova and the reason seems to be that the upload is bad.
