"Jazz rock" is actually a subgenre of jazz fusion. "Jazz fusion" describes the merging of jazz with a number of other genres, including rock, and is therefore more inclusive. Plus, the line between the two terms is extremely ill-defined and nebulous. C1k3 02:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually, much like the term "Jazz" houses subgenres like bebop, dixieland and jazz fusion, jazz fusion houses several subgenres like smooth jazz and jazz rock. Jazz fusion is merely an umbrella term which demands further description to be effective, and jazz rock, a legitimate genre, does just that. (Mind meal 07:08, 14 August 2007 (UTC))
I wouldn't seperate them, there are several Jazz-rock musicians who definitly aren't jazz fusion, and I can't stand about 90% of jazz-fusion! Steely Dan is a good example of soft rock with jazz-rock I'd say. Early Chicago too, as well as Van Morrison. Andrzejbanas 22:14, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
