Jaysingpur is a city and a municipal council in Kolhapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city got the name from Raja Jaysing, father of Shrimant Chatrapati Pratapsinh Maharaj of Kolhapur who developed the city. The city is famous for the tobacco market which is one of the biggest in the country. The city produces most of the famous Gutkhas and tobacco in India.the city has also famous RAM MANDIR.THE siddheshwar mandir is also very popular

Jaysingpur is well connected to Pune and Mumbai by trains and road. The city has a very strategic location as it is on the diagonal meeting point of quadrilateral formed by Kolhapur, Sangli, Ichalkaranji and Miraj.

As of 2001 India census[1], Jaysingpur had a population of 53,055. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Jaysingpur has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 67%. In Jaysingpur, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is famous for tobacco industry. This city plays a role of a prominent business area for various small villages around it.

This place is famous for its clean air and thats why many asthma patients prefer this place to live. One of the specialties of this town is that all the roads in the city meets at 90 degree angle with each other.
