Jayant Kripalani is an actor[1], director and producer. Jayant was one of the first small screen stars in India featuring in the 1980s TV serials like Khandan, Mr. Ya Mrs and later in Ji Mantriji (2003). He has played character roles in movies like Heat & Dust (Dr. Gopal), Rockford (Brother Lawrence) and more recently in Bollywood sci-fi thriller Alag (Pushkar Rana).
Jayant is a Director of [Exper Executive Education]http://www.exper.in/ which he co-founded with Gaurav Saklani, Tarun Chandna, and Saurabh Saklani in 2007. He uses theatre techniques to develop and deliver workshops in Communication, Assertiveness, Relationship Building and Creativity. Jayant is also the Managing Director of Catalyst India[2], which runs grand productions for large teams.
Jayant has directed and produced a number of films for multi nationals and is actively involved with theatre. Jayant has written the scripts for the original Ghar Jamai which was aired in the old TV days of Doordarshan. And written and produced PC aur Mausi - a mini TV series which explored the prejudices a 'Mausi'(maternal aunt) had with the advent of the 'dreaded' "PC" or Personal Computer in the mid-eighties in India. Amongst his earlier work is an Ed TV programme in which children explored the statement "Why is Water Wet!" in a successful TV format. He graduated from Jadavpur University with a degree in English Literature. He has worked at JWT, Grant Kenyon & Eckhardt, and as Senior Creative Director with RKSwamy BBDO.
