Dr Ruban Canistus Jayalath Jayawardena MP (born 16 August 1953) is a qualified medical officer who was elected to the Parliament of Sri Lanka for the opposition United National Party (UNP) in 1994. Jayawardena is known as a human rights activist.

Jayawardena, as the Minister of Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Refugees was once invited by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to deliver a speech on "Sustainable Voluntary Resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons" in Geneva.
