Jay Young

Jay Young (born circa 1949 in Eunice, Louisiana) - August 23, 2006) was one of the original news anchors on CNN's Headline News in the 1980s. He was a popular regional newcaster in Baton Rouge on WAFB-TV in the late 1970s and on WBRZ-TV in the early 1980s to mid 1980s, the latter newcast was reportedly the highest rated ABC-TV newcast for a market its size in the country. Young retired from broadcasting in 1987 following a car accident. Young later published three novels in the 1990s. He is survived by wife Wyonna, two sons, and his mother.
