Jay Pottinger

Jason "Jay" "J-Po" Pottinger (born June 29, 1983 in Whitby, Ontario) is a linebacker for the British Columbia Lions of the CFL. He is 6'2', 220 lbs. and wears number 11. He was drafted in the 1st round, 2nd overall in the 2006 CFL Draft by the Lions. Pottinger went to McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario. In his first season, he recorded no sacks, 6 tackles and 19 special teams tackles in all 18 games for the Lions. He was part of the Lions in their 2006 Grey Cup win.

College Career
Jay was among the leading players in all of CIS football in 2005, he was named the Outstanding Defensive Player in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) in 2005 for the second straight year. He recorded 51 tackles and a sack in 8 games for McMaster. In 2004, Jay received his first OUA Top Defensive Player award and has been named to the All-Canadian Team twice in his career. Jay Was a member of the OUA All-Star Team in each of his final three seasons with the Marauders.

He also played for the women's inter-university basketball championship and was on the starting line up with Ms. Nav Baldeo and Her Ladyship John Popham. Coming off the bench was Lou Cafazzo. Jay also enjoys the occasional double cheeseburger dressed like a big mac (but no pickles!) at McDonald's.
