Jason "Jay" Lane (born 11 March 1969 in Brisbane) is an Australian radio and television presenter and actor. He is currently best known as the "traffic guy" on Brisbane's morning radio, broadcasting to the listeners of Triple M and on the Gold Coast for Gold FM, Sea FM of the Sunshine Coast and New FM in Newcastle. He is also a regular on Channel Seven's Sunrise morning program reporting from the traffic chopper. Previously, he was also reporting traffic for 612 ABC Brisbane, 96Five [1], 98.9 and 99.7. He is also known for his work as an actor, in early 2007 picking up a principal role in the Australian production of one of Off Broadway's longest running musicals Naked Boys Singing at Brisbane's "Stagedoor Dinner Theatre". He also provided his versatility as several different background characters in the US mini series The Starter Wife as well as the Australian Movie Kokoda.[citation needed] In 2000 he was also a news reader on Australia's Optus Television Network on channel 50 so anchoring next to Lisa Ridgley (who now presents morning radio in Canberra on Mix106.3 1CBR. Shortly thereafter they both secured the hosting jobs of "Midweek Madness" a popular nightly program of Brisbane's Switch FM.
