Jay Friedman

Jay Friedman (b. 1939) is the principal trombonist for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Friedman joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1962[1] and is known for his arranging as well as conducting[citation needed]. When he was appointed principal in 1964 he was the youngest brass player to take the take the first chair in a major orchestra.[2] His articles on conducting and orchestral style have been published by Instrumentalist Magazine.[citation needed]
