Jay Faatz

Jayson S. Faatz (October 24, 1860 - April 10, 1923) was a 19th century major league baseball player born in Weedsport, New York who play first base for four different teams during his four season career, the last of which he was player-manager for the 1890 Buffalo Bisons of the Players League during the league's only year of existence.[1] Even though he had made a major league roster in 1884, he returned to the minor leagues, which includes a season with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1885.[2]
After his baseball days were over, among Jay's post-career occupations included insurance salesman.[3] Jay died in Syracuse, New York at the age of 62, and was buried in the Weedsport Rural Cemetery.[4]
