Jay David Adkisson a/k/a "Jay Adkisson" and "Jay D. Adkisson" is a writer and attorney.
Jay's books include "Asset Protection: Concepts & Strategies for Protecting Your Wealth" (2004), "Equity-Indexed Annuities: The Smart Consumer's Guide" (2006), "Lost Eye: Coping with Monocular Vision after Enucleation or Eye Loss from Cancer, Accident, or Disease" (2006), and "Captive Insurance Companies: An Introduction to Captives, Risk Retention Groups, and Closely-Held Insurance Companies" (2006)
Jay is perhaps best known as the creator of Quatloos.com, an internet website that humorously exposes financial scams and frauds, and he has twice appeared as an expert witness to the United States Senate Committee on Finance regarding tax and charitable scams.
Having earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, Jay is admitted to practice law in California, Oklahoma, and Texas. Jay is currently a partner of the law firm of Riser Adkisson LLP with offices in Athens, Georgia and Newport Beach, California. Jay has been a speaker at large educational events of the American Bar Association, the Heckerling Institute, and the Southern California Tax & Estate Planning Forum, as well as those of numerous state and local bar associations. Jay has also taught asset protection and related subjects to the United States Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service.
