Jay Benedict

Jay Benedict (born 1951, Burbank, California) is an American actor, best known in the United Kingdom for his role as Captain John Kieffer in Foyle's War (in the episodes "Invasion" and "All Clear").
He has lived in the UK since 1973, and worked at the Royal National Theatre alongside Michael Kitchen. He has also appeared on television in Sharpe's Honour, Death Train, Harnessing Peacocks, Only Love and the films Saving Grace, Rewind, Carmen, The Russia House and Aliens. Also working in French and Spanish, he has appeared as an American general in Le Grand Charles (a French mini series on Charles De Gaulle), runs a dubbing group which works on French films, and translates film scripts such as The Card Player into English.
