Why the change? I thought hyperlinking the entire phrase would be much better, much less awkward. I'm changing it back for now.

Just to comment that the usage for credit in BC may also, I think, have been current in the American frontier, as is the case with other shared expressions left over from the gold rush era in which "semi-migratory" mining populations spanned the border; BC speech was always inflenced by the US West and West Coast, so I'd imagine this is a left-over from that; if someone knows if it's an American term also please say and I'll adjust it; currently the link goes to one of the Canadian English subarticles and its section on BC, but it doesn't have to if this term was also in use in WA, OR, ID, MT, AK etc...Skookum1 00:59, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
