Jawiszowice

Jawiszowice is a village in Oświęcim County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland. The town has a long history of coal mining that continues to this day. The town is about 12 kilometers from the city of Oświęcim, where the former Nazi concentration and death camp of Auschwitz was located. Jawiszowice was the location of one of the Auschwitz sub-camps, named Jawischowitz.
