Jawad (Arabic:) is an Arabic name.

Open handed or generous and the most handsome of all human beings.
It is also the old Arabic word for stallion or steed.

Jawad is said to be one of the names used to describe Muhammad.[citation needed] Jawad means also "horse" in arabic.
Jawad, meaning "generous", is an epithet of the fifth Shi'ite imam, mostly known as Muhammad al-Baqir.
