[edit] Fair use rationale
Fair use claimed for the Jaws 3-D article because:
- no free alternative available or could be created.
- the source text (Jaws 3-D) is discussed in the article.
- it illustrates how 3-D was used in the film.
- does not detract from the value of the text, or the copyright holder's ability to make further profit from it.
- Because the image is provided at a low resolution inappropriate for re-printing, its usage on Wikipedia does not pose a problem of aiding media piracy.
- This is a very limited portion of the overall work. It is one frame out of thousands.
This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
