Javier Nicolás Sánchez

Javier Nicolás Sánchez [1] (born August 21, 1975, in La Rioja, Argentina) is a Computer Scientist currently residing in the US .

Javier is the eldest son of Olga Inés Yúdica de Sánchez and Vicente Leonidas Sánchez. He has two siblings, Mariana Lucía Sánchez (1976) and Sebastián Pablo Sánchez (1982).

Javier studied in several schools during his basic education, starting in the small city of Chamical where he attended kindergarten through 3rd grade. In 1985 his family relocated back to La Rioja, city where he was born, and during that year attended 4th grade in the Benjamin de La Vega grade school. Later he finished primary school (5th to 7th grade) in the Ortiz de Ocampo school. His secondary education started at Colegio Universitario San Martin, a secondary school known for its level of excellence, being a school that is controlled by the University of La Rioja. However, due to strikes happening with teacher in the school Javier decided to switch institutions and finished high school (4th and 5th year) in the Instituto Argentino de Estudios Superiores.

By 1993 Javier had a clear goal of majoring in Computer Science and started his studies in Universidad Blas Pascal, located in Cordoba. During the 5 years that followed he completed the requirements of the Licenciado en Informatica degree with a specialization in Systems, a program that is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree plus a Masters in the US system. During his studies he achieved the highest GPA in the class of 1998, alongside with the highest GPA in the country for majors in the areas of Computer Science and Statistics. Thanks to that he was awarded a Presidential Award during the year 1998, the ceremony took place at the presidential palace in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Later on, Javier was awarded a series of distinctions, among them we can mention:

  • Outstanding Citizen of the La Rioja City
  • Honor medal from the House of representatives of Cordoba City
  • Gold medal from the House of representatives of La Rioja City
  • Gold medal from Blas Pascal University
