Javier Morgado is currently a Supervising Producer at NBC's TODAY Show. In December 2006, he began overseeing assignments and news for the national morning news program. Morgado manages editorial aspects of the broadcast including script approval, building and managing the rundown, logistics coordination and oversight of newsgathering budgets.

Prior to joining TODAY, Morgado was a Senior Editor at the NBC News Network Desk where he was responsible for managing and coordinating daily news coverage for the network's news division and its entities. He was instrumental in breaking several national stories for the network - most notably the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Morgado also managed the network's political coverage for the 2006 midterm election and 2004 presidential election as Senior Political Editor. He coordinated editorial operations for NBC News at the conventions, presidential debates, primaries and caucuses.

In 2003, Morgado supervised and planned NBC News overseas coverage of the war in Iraq. He was responsible for all of the correspondents, producers and crews that were embedded with the U.S. military. Morgado also managed numerous news gathering partnerships that were instrumental to the network's award-winning coverage of the war.

Before coming to the network in 2001, Morgado was the Assignment Manager at NBC owned-and-operated WTVJ in Miami, Florida. He was involved in covering several national stories including: the search for September 11th terrorists, the 2000 presidential election debacle and the Elian Gonzalez saga. Morgado began his journalism career in 1995 at WPLG (Washington Post owned ABC station) in Miami, his hometown.

Morgado holds a Master of Business Administration in media management from Fordham University in New York City. He is also a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in communication.

Morgado is a member of the NBC News Diversity Council, GE Hispanic Forum & OUT@NBCU. He serves on the board of directors for the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA). Morgado is also an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA).
