Javier Herrera (born October 8, 1981 in Hialeah, Florida) is an American baseball player in the Washington Nationals organization. Herrera was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2003, and has played Minor League Baseball for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Lake County Captains, Kinston Indians, and Akron Aeros. A catcher and a 2007 non-roster invitee to spring training with the Indians, Herrera throws and bats right-handed. He has yet to make his Major League Baseball debut. Herrera played college baseball at University of Tennessee. On June 9, 2007, he was traded to the Washington Nationals organization, and began the 2008 season with the Harrisburg Senators of the Class AA Eastern League before being called up to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers. In the off-season, Herrera resides in Miami, Florida.
