[edit] Early translations

This section looks extremely suspicious. I suspect it actually refers to the PaƱcatantra, a version of which was indeed translated into Persian at about the time indicated, and thence via various languages to the West, appearing in print about 1480 & in English in 1570. No doubt some of the stories also appear in Jatakas, but it would be very misleading to describe them in the way done in the article. Peter jackson 10:59, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
