I am a Ph.D. student in the English Department, and affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Program in Critical Theory, at Northwestern University.

An Americanist, my research is primarily concerned with individuals, subjectivity, and agency in literature of and about the working class and is informed by cultural and textual studies. Specific areas of specialization? Marxism, critical theory, cultural studies, and the radical novel.

My other academic interests include postmodernism, representations of violence, advertising and marketing, the history of literary studies in the United States, and continental philosophy.

In my spare time I run, hike, camp, cook and preserve, and wargame.
