Jason McCartney (born September 3, 1973) is an American professional road racing cyclist for UCI ProTeam Team CSC. His 2004 Tour de Georgia stage win was named the North American "Ride of the Year" by VeloNews Magazine. His hometown is Honolulu, Hawaii and he resides in Coralville, Iowa.
Jason McCartney, who won king of the mountain bragging rights while finishing 39th overall last year in the Tour de Georgia, pulled out due to an illness. McCartney remains in a hospital in Atlanta undergoing tests. A team staffer said that he has been having severe headaches and that doctors have done two lumbar punctures attempting to find out what the issue is. One possibility is viral meningitis, but doctors remain unsure.
