Jason Karl

Jason Karl (born 1978)- birthname: Julian Leighton- is a British actor and TV presenter born in Surrey, but now living in the North West of England.

His first appearance on television was in 1988 on ITV's children's show Knightmare, where he appeared as the dungeoneer for his team.[1][2]

His credits include the popular paranormal series Ghosthunters, BBC Jam's The Makeover Show, ATI (USA) Diana - Spirit of a Princess, Jason Karl's High Spirits (DVD series), Spectre Inspectors (TV adventure gameshow), Haunted Homes (pilot) and later and most famously in 2002 he joined the crew of Living's hit entertainment show Most Haunted, where he served as paranormal investigator/co-presenter for the first series as a freelancer. He has also appeared in several films and presented shows in Belgium, Holland, the USA and Germany.

On leaving Most Haunted he founded his own television production company with several industry professionals who left the show at the same time and was involved in numerous other television productions, with his companies: first Talisman TV, and later Pure TV including The TV Chef, Spellbound and Spectre Inspectors. He left Most Haunted to take the role of anchor presenter of ITV's Haunted Live and subsequently has presented series in France, USA and Belgium. He currently appears on satellite channels as a television presenter and has 7 books and many DVDs in print. He also produces and directs live productions, including the UK first theatrical horror brand AtmosFEAR! which originally launched in 2005 under his former production company. His current productions run under the "Imaginenation" brand name.

He currently (2007) guest presents with shopping channel QVC in the UK and also appears 7 days a week on Pricecrash TV. His book releases with New Holland Publishers, Carnegie and Countryside Books to date are:

Jason is a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists, British Actors Equity, The Pagan Federation and The Ghost Club Society (for whom he is a regional representative).

He lives in a rural Georgian country house with his partner in North Lancashire, where he also dabbles in property developing.
