Jason DeRusha is an American television journalist, who grew up outside of Chicago. While he currently works as a reporter in Minneapolis, he has reported in Milwaukee and anchored in Davenport, Iowa. In some circles, he might be better known as a blogger and frequent contributor to many online communities.
Currently, DeRusha is a general assignment reporter at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He joined the CBS affiliate in April of 2003.[1] He is reporting on both news and feature platforms and occasionally serves as fill-in anchor. He won a 2004 Regional Emmy for his series called "Jason's Talking About."[2]
Aside from his on-air presence at WCCO-TV, DeRusha also blogs for the station website. Originally entitled "Jason's Talking About," readers renamed his blog in an online poll in April of 2007.[3] And so, his blog is now officially known as "DeBlog."
METRO Magazine profiled DeRusha's videoblog in a February 8, 2007 article] writing, "DeRusha is doing something that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago: He’s exposing the guts of newsmaking."
Prior to employment at WCCO, DeRusha worked as a reporter in Milwaukee at WISN-TV. He had also anchored at Davenport, Iowa's KWQC-TV.
DeRusha graduated of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served as news director of the campus news station.

DeRusha currently resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota with his wife Alyssa, sons Seth, Sam, and dog Baxter. Alyssa is a Twin Cities native and graduate of Wayzata High School. The two met online in a campus chatroom while studying at Marquette University.
In his free time, DeRusha enjoys art. He collects glass art and frequents art museums, fairs, and the like.
DeRusha is an active member of several online communities, including Mnspeak, Myspace and Facebook.
He grew up outside of Chicago in Des Plaines, Illinois.
