Jason Clive Beardsley, (born July 12. 1989 in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire) is a footballer currently playing for Derby County.

Jason started playing football for Uttoxeter Juniors where his dad, Clive, was manager. He was spotted at a young age by many clubs and chose to play for the club he supported as a boy, Derby County, and was signed up at just 7 years old.

Having been part of the academy for over 10 years, Beardsley has signed a 2-year professional contract, the length of contract testament to the effort Beardsley has put in over the years. He now hopes to follow in the footsteps of other Derby players such as Giles Barnes, Lewin Nyatanga and Lee Camp - who all came through the Academy.

Beardsley made his full first team debut in the League Cup 2nd round game against Blackpool, Beardsley was booked and replaced in the 61st minute with Andy Todd taking his place. The match finished 2-2 after extra time, with Blackpool winning 7-6 on a penalty shootout.[1]
