Jasmine Callan

Jasmine Callan is a British Iraqi actress who recently portrayed the well known Iraqi female blogger Riverbend in John Fletchers the Womans Hour.[1] The drama focuses on Riverbend's stories of life in occupied Baghdad, stories of neighbours whose homes are raided by US troops, and of relatives disappearing during the chaos. She also carries on with expressing her own decision in choosing not to wear the hijab, a decision that becomes increasingly risky as religious extremism increases. [2][3] Jasmine has worked in a number of theatre productions and on radio.
