[edit] Image:Nl-be justine henin.ogg
Hi. (Sorry, I don't speak German.) About a year ago, you recorded this sound clip. When you recorded it, though, you left out the "Hardenne" part of her last name.If it wouldn't be a bother to you, could you re-record the sound clip to include this? I would do it, but I don't have a microphone. Thanks! → J@red 16 jun 2006 14:32 (CEST) <-- That's my English Account.
- I also do not speak German. I have left out the "Hardenne"-part because that is not here name. It is the name of here husband. I know that in some country's a wife's lose there name when the are maried. But not in Belgium. The only way to change your name is my following a special legal procedure. Here legal name is Justine Henin.
- If you really like it I am willing to record a new version with Hardenne included. But I would prefer not to do it. The idea of those recordings is so you can hear how a name is pronounced by a native. She is French speaking. I am Dutch speaking. But because I am living in Belgium , Brussels I can pronounce it a lot better then let say an American. I am sure that the current recording has the correct pronunciation. But I am not confident that I can pronounce Herdenne exactly like it should be. Greetings, --Walter 19:28, 16 June 2006 (UTC) (responds here is fine)
[edit] Inappropriate template use
Please stop adding the absurd gambling template. It is up for tfd and obviously deserves to be. It's like making a template called "Wikipedia articles". It is way too general, applied utterly at random, and completely ignores categorization in place for years. 2005 21:39, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Talk:2006 Atlantic hurricane season
You were unable to point me to the descussion you had regarding the images located in the active season template. You also failed to give a good reason why an image is hurtful in that spot. Maybe this is because you didn't see my message. Please respond. Thanks. → JARED (t) 17:34, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- There are 28 talk archive pages for the 2005 season which is too much trouble to search through. All I can say is that I believe this has been discussed before and the general agreement was to leave the image out, because there was not an image on the 2005 page until we got the track map. If you really want an image there, you can make your argument and draw people to your side on the 2006 talk page... if you want to. --tomf688 (talk - email) 17:43, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- You know, I really don't want to make a big deal. Personally, I thought an image would look nice there because it is so blank. Almost all ofther infoboxes like this contain an image, even if it will be replaced later with a permanent one. I'm not going to fight to make it this way, though, becuase frankly it's foolish. → JARED (t) 19:51, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

- Jared, you can't use a copyright image, add another image and then claim it as GFDL like you did with Image:Olympic_Torch_award.png. Sue Anne 20:12, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why do you think the images are free use. At best, some are fair use but shouldn't be used on a barnstar template. Sue Anne 23:10, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of the olympic rings from pages.
Hey, Jonel. I see you have been removing this image from many pages. I think that you've gone too far on the following pages, though: Template:Olympic games medal count and Portal:Olympics. The former is placed and only viewed on main pages, which is a perfectly fine place to put fair use images. Why, then, is it wrong to have this image on the template that is on an encyclopedic page? The latter is also encyclopedic, and contains information that is supplemented by the image. Could you lead me to the place where it says fair use images can only be put on main space pages? Thanks. I know you mean well. → JARED (t) 20:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Fair_use#Policy, #9. Fair use images should be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are often enough not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. -- Jonel | Speak 21:18, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Ladies" vs. "Women" again
Hello Jared. There's a small discussion happening at Talk:Pair skating regarding the use of the word "ladies" or "women". I see that you've discussed this with Dr.frog already, and I was wondering if you could try again to find the link where the Wikipedia community decided on "women". I found this link: [1], and I agree that "women" should be used, but I'd just like everyone to be convinced. Thank you.
I'd also like to inform you (if you don't know already) of the existence of WikiProject Figure Skating, which lately has created a few Olympian articles. Cheers! --Fang Aili talk 14:17, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
