Talk:Jarring Mission

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

<< His report was presented to the public on January 4, 1971, but by mid-November of 1970, it was clear that his mission had failed.>>

Either dates need to be corrected or wording clarified. Was it already clear that the mission had failed at the time of the public announcement?

The sentence and the November date is wrong - it had reached a temporary impasse in November, iirc he went back to Moscow for a while then. But the most active phase of the mission was after the report, in February-March 1971, with the "Jarring initiative". As it stands this sentence is wrong and the article is quite misleading. Good that there's a new link, this article needs a much bigger and more accurate treatment.John Z (talk) 16:21, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
