The article Jardin de Tivoli, Paris sounds like strange to me. It was a good idea to create such an article: there were Tivoli gardens in the past in Paris (1766-1826).

However the explanations in the article are either wrong or they have to be developed. I don't know the streets: Rue des Orangers, Rue de Tivoli, and the Rue des Oliviers???? A children's library is located at this site: interest???

I give you a French site URL about Tivoli in Paris: http://www.faget-benard.com/petit%20bout%20du%20monde/textes/chap2/tivoli.htm

[edit] Delete?

I read the link in French supplied by JPM2112. The Tivoli Gardens in Paris existed up to the mid-nineteenth century. They no longer do. The French link discusses their fascinating history. I'm new to this process, and I'm finding the whole Wikipedia editing process cumbersome. The best thing to do with this article is to delete it. None of the information it contains is accurate.

You can look fr:Tivoli (Paris). It is a stub I have just created. Jpm2112 08:45, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

It does appear that the current Jardin de Tivoli was probably more recently created, and the original has been destroyed. Stepp-Wulf 01:49, 20 December 2005 (UTC).

From User talk:Stepp-Wulf: Hello, at the moment, in Paris, there are not any Tivoli gardens => the article must be deleted or changed (from the French version). Jpm2112 09:11, 20 December 2005 (UTC).

[edit] Tivoli gardens, Paris

Now it is clear: there are no Tivoli gardens in Paris at the moment. But.... the article Jardin de Tivoli, Paris is related to gardens, what are located in Le Cannet (mairie de Le Cannet. Now, I think you could change with right information. Regards Jpm2112 09:36, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Check

I did not want to leave this page in this state. Thus I translated (?) my French text. Please 1) check the text 2) this is a stub. If it's possible, look for some additional information. Good luck. Jpm2112 11:59, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Status

I've reworded the article and compared it to the article on the French wikipedia with the help of a friend with skill at French. One opf the itneresting changes was changing the verb tenses. Apparently tenses in French and English do not have exact parallels. The information in the French wikipedia is all I have to work with and that is a stub. There are several words the exact mean of which eludes me.

  • Sacre seems to have been the crowning of Charles X. But the party was in the year followimg his coronation.
  • The sedcond Tivoli disappeared. Does this mean closed? (How do you misplace a large garden?)
  • Sequestation? Closed to the public?
  • L'aéronaute? Aeronaut. Probably a balloonist but can't prove it.

I'm closing the cleanup taskforce project. My apologies for not having done more but I've run out of information..
